Sedgemoor Health Walks

Because the Group does not charge for walks or membership, it relies on support from various organisations which are shown below. This support is greatly appreciated and is vital to the long term future & success of the Group.

Sedgemoor District Council   Sedgemoor District Council originally set up the Group in 2007, as part of their Community Health programme which was funded by the NHS. Once the Group was fully established, the Council devolved the running of the Group to a community based group of volunteers. The Council now helps with publicity and trains the volunteer walk leaders

Somerset County council   Somerset County Council has provided the Group with a grant as part of their "Supporting Health & Wellbeing" programme.

Walking for Health   Walking For Health is a national organisation that promotes and sets the standards for led health walks. It suports the largest network of free health walks across England. Walking for Health has accredited Sedgemoor Health Walks.

Walk 4 Life   Walk 4 Life is a national organisation that runs a large website promoting walking and walking groups.
